Postponed last 15 November to yesterday Thursday, 20 December 2018, the trial Cnss-Bibe has just been postponed again. Laurent Mètongnon and his co-defendants will have to appear on 16 January 2019. This was decided by the all-powerful court, which has been criticized since its creation, the Court for the Repression of Economic Offences and Terrorism, Criet.

La Criet plays in overtime. This is what the Cnss-Bibe case has been since it was seized by the Court for the Suppression of Economic Offences and Terrorism. Indeed, the file has just been postponed for a second time. Previously scheduled for November 15, 2018, the first hearing in this reboot of the case has been postponed. The case was referred to 20 December 2018. Reason given: the judicial return of the Benin Bar. Against all odds, yesterday’s hearing could not take place. The Cnss-Bibe trial has thus just been postponed for a second time. Laurent Mètongnon and his co-defendants will have to go back behind bars until January 16th, the date of the news audience. As a reminder, Laurent Mètongnon and his co-accused were placed under a warrant for approximately seven (07) months in connection with an issue involving the placement of funds from the Caisse nationale de sécurité sociale (CNSS) in an alleged bankin difficulty, the BIBE.
According to the charges laid against them in cabinet, the alleged guilty persons acted with the aim of benefiting from hidden commissions derived from this so-called risky placement. Hidden commissions estimated at 71,994,737 CFA francs, said the minutes of the council of ministers on Thursday, November 2, 2017.
Business to follow.
